Is Breast Augmentation Right for You?
The cover of the magazine flaunts the article, “Do you want bigger firmer breasts?” The title and colors attract your attention and the subject matter makes you curious as to if you could really have “bigger firmer breasts.” If women were to tell the truth, most would say a resounding YES to this question. You are thinking about what the article could tell you; is it an exercise program, a new piece of exercise equipment, a new herb, a diet, cream, or pill? Ok, you cannot take the curiosity, so you purchase the magazine.
You curl up in your favorite chair and open the magazine to learn how to get bigger firmer breasts. In a very short time, you realize that the big secret to bigger firmer breasts is breast augmentation. Still curious, you read on.
The article begins, breast augmentation involves using implants to fulfill your desire for fuller breasts or to restore breast volume lost after weight reduction or pregnancy. If you are dissatisfied with your breast size, augmentation surgery is a choice to consider. Breast augmentation can increase fullness and the projection of your breasts, improve the balance of your figure, and enhance your self-image.
Deciding if breast augmentation is right for you is a highly individualized decision and you should do it for yourself, not to fulfill someone else’s desires or to try to fit any sort of ideal image. To be a successful candidate for breast augmentation you should be physically healthy, have realistic expectations, you are dissatisfied with your breasts being too small, or they are losing shape, and/or volume.
Breast implants come in many sizes and shapes. The type of breast implant that you choose should be based on your desired change in profile and cleavage. Factors include positioning, surface texture, shape, personal anatomy and other considerations.
You also learn that there are many types of breast implants to choose from, although unless you are having reconstructive breast surgery, you are limited to the different types of saline filled implants. The saline implants also have choices. One type is pre-filled to a fixed volume, another filled with a fixed volume of saline during surgery through a valve, and one type that is filled during surgery and can be adjusted by adding or extracting saline through a valve in the implant.
Ok, you have decided to take the next step. You are going to see a surgeon, but what should you look for in choosing a doctor for your surgery? The following qualifications are a must: a doctor that is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgeons, has had special training in breast augmentation surgery, has hospital privileges to perform breast augmentation surgery, and can supply you with testimonials, photos, and references.
Once you have a couple of surgeons to interview, talk extensively to each of them. Ask questions, and don’t be shy about asking for proof of their credibility and talents. Once you are comfortable with the doctor you have chosen, you will be ready to move on to the surgery.
If you’re considering breast augmentation in San Diego where prices are steep, try calling the board certified doctors of the Premier Plastic Surgery Group of Utah (http://www.premiersurgeryut.com/california/San-Diego-plastic-surgery/) for better pricing. Art Gib is a freelance writer.
