Providing Good Bar Service With The Right Bar Equipment

Ever wondered what makes a bar so welcoming or why other bars are so repulsive that you would never even think of stepping into it for more than five minutes? The obvious might be because it attracts a certain group or perhaps some bars appear cleaner and others appear to have never seen a mop and bucket. However, one of the main problems of a lot of the bars that we see is not necessarily the cleanliness of the bar, but the bar equipment used to serve their customers.

Some bars could have been in business for many years and yet have never upgraded to newer equipment for serving a wider variety of beverages. However, drinks dispensers are not the only way of making a bar seem more appealing, as other factors affect why people are drawn to any bar. Essential bar equipment can be in the form of a no smoking sign, bar signage, catering equipment, digital displays, flat screen TV screens, ice machines, bottle coolers, glass frosters and much more.

No smoking signs became a compulsory part of bar equipment after the ban on smoking in public establishments in July 2007. With the potential loom of many regular customers being lost, most bars took the initiative in building designated smoking shelters outside their establishment in order to keep the smoking customers within the same area and not to segregate them too much. Some bars may need planning permission for this kind of thing to take place, however, many of the bars this could help maintain their business and keep their customers happy.

The smoking shelters must come with metal ashtrays, heaters and built with more than half of its shelters exposed to the open. With this in mind, the responsibility of the surrounding customer’s safety falls upon the staff members, because of the health and safety issues at hand. The shelters should be kept separate, but at the same time it must be obviously displayed that these are specifically for smoking and at no part are smokers to smoke within the building itself.

Choosing the right bar equipment will make a difference in the way you want the customers to respond to the way you want the bars to be treated. Having signs are a great way of keeping customers informed of what is permitted in the bar and what is prohibited. Furthermore, having simple machines and bar signage give the customers a feeling of welcoming. Making clear of what offers are available and what serves the bar provide is a good way of keeping the customers happy and helping them to decide upon what they would want from you.

Having self-service ice machines may not be such a good in most bars, as they are more common in cinemas, bowling alleys and other entertainment venues. Many bars have their own ice machine behind the counter, providing ice in drinks where needed rather than allowing customers to help themselves. Other essential equipment can be glass washers to allow for sparkling and impressive glass selections, metal pourers, beverage flasks and hi-tech cash registers which process payments quickly without the worry of queue building up.
