Kids Fascinations With Cell Phones And The Internet
The two biggest things that kids want today are cell phones and the internet. You get them their cell phones for emergencies only and before you know it, they are on it all the time talking to their friends about their studies and of course their boyfriend or their girlfriends.
The schools will tell you that you should have a computer for all of your children that are in school because some of their classes might be done only on computers. Of course this can be almost impossible for some families that don’t have a lot of money to start with and for a single mother, it would be impossible. No ifs, ands or buts.
Sometimes the child with the cell phone will get into trouble at school because they wouldn’t shut off their phone while they are in school. This cell phone will either be given to you after they call you at work, or it will be kept in the school’s office until the end of the school year. You would be surprised if you would go to any school and ask if you could look in the lost and found because you would find a lot of cell phones that had been taken from students at different times of the school year.
The Internet is another thing that can really get your child into a lot of trouble. If they don’t know what they are doing they can get into web sites that will or could do them harm. They could get into a chat room and start talking to someone that they don’t know.
Then after they get into trouble they might find out that the person that they were talking hasn’t been honest with them about anything that they had talked to them about. They might find out that this person is an old man who pretended to be 50 years old, and your child may have been 15 or 16 at the time.
The Internet is a good thing to have if you know how to use it right. If you don’t know how to, try to find someone that might be able to teach you how, or get yourself the video professor and watch it. These two things are the wave of the future, and they will be here for a long time. They will keep getting newer things to go with them or they might get smaller and faster, but they will always be here.
