Are Our Rights Going Up In Smoke
All we, as citizens of these United States, want is to be able to live comfortably with money to spare and not have to worry if things get rough. We all want to be treated equally and fairly without having some strings attached. We want to raise our children as we see fit, not because of this person telling us how or that we can’t.
Our rights are being slowly taken from us. For one, our freedom of speech is almost a thing of the past. You really have to watch what you say in public and yes, sometimes even over the phone in your own home. Our government got caught tapping into thousands of phone conversions. They said that it was to catch terrorists’ conversations but if this was the reason, why did they tap into so many phone lines? Then they wondered why we got so upset. How would they like it if we did the same thing to the White House or the Senate House? To tell you the truth we would be brought up on charges for wire-tapping.
Our government has done some good things for us, but lately it has not done much. Our country was one of the biggest and powerful, and now look at us. We are spread out so thin that if some other country wanted to hit us again, this time they might succeed.
We really need to come together and set all our differences aside, be it Democrats, Republicans, or Independent. This is an election year and our voices need to be heard. We need to tell this government that we are not going to let them keep doing to us what they have been doing. I know that all people are human and that we all make mistakes, but this one has really made a lot.
Our country is really in trouble money wise because of all the bailouts it is doing. Our car companies are in trouble, and of course so are we. I think that our government should let us know more often about what they have in mind for us like making laws that we don’t even know about until you might get into trouble for doing something that they might have made a law for.
Like I said before, our freedom of speech is like something on a two-sided coin. Yes, we can say almost anything about anything except certain people. When you do there are people that will make sure that you wished that you had kept your mouth closed.
