Optimizing Search Results In Internet Dating
With the advent of numerous internet dating services available to users, the real decision becomes not who to date but which site to choose. Choosing the most appropriate site will not only increase your chances of finding your mate but will also make the whole experience far more enjoyable for you.
Back in the early days of internet dating and online hookups, there was very little to choose from and no protection from fraudulent misrepresentations made by fake users. It was up to the individuals to decide for themselves if the person they were communicating with was a creep, scammer or something even worse.
Unfortunately, there have been many women who have suffered financially and emotionally by someone they met on the internet and subsequently found out they were not the person they purported to be.
Today, the risk is still there but there is more of an effort to ensure that internet dating users are not being harassed by scammers and fraudulent people.
Internet dating is a booming business and even with the slight decline in popularity internet dating is not going away. It has become a way of life for many. There are now hundreds of sites to choose from and probably will be many more to come.
There are internet dating sites specifically geared for a certain type of profession such as soldier or sailor, cowboy or entrepreneur. There are also sites geared towards ethnicity such as Jewish or Indian and sites geared towards financial status. The list goes on and on, as there is no end to the types of internet dating sites out there.
Thankfully, good quality internet dating services follow-up on new user profiles to ensure that they are not scammers and or lying about their information.
It becomes evident early on if the internet dating site you are on screens their users by the amount of junk messages you begin to receive from scammers. A good site abolishes these user profiles immediately with little or no repeats.
If you continue to get junk messages from suspicious users on a site, then you should report it to the site immediately and see if any action is taken. A good site will notify you immediately if they have done anything about it.
Choosing the correct site that is right for you can be challenging especially if you are not sure of what you are looking for. Generally, people stick to the open sites that are not ethnic, career or income based. Most people want variety and they are more apt to get that in general sites.
If you are looking for someone specific, say ethnic background, then by no means don’t limit yourself to a site that is specifically geared to just that. You can miss out on many other people who are signed up on a general site and are not even aware that there is an ethnic dating site at all.
A good internet dating site has their search engine optimized to help you search for someone not just from location, but also by interests, ethnicity, religion, income and a host of other different options. So, an ethnic specific dating site may limit your possibilities.
Some people also make the assumption that a site that is more geared towards a specific group or ethnic back ground, has less scammers and fraudulent profiles. Not true. Unfortunately, scammers are willing to go anywhere and do anything to try to get money from you. So be aware and don’t be fooled.
In the end, the best bet is to choose several dating sites that can optimize a search specific to your needs. If they don’t then you will be spending countless hours going through profiles that do not interest you and only serve to frustrate you.
