Enemies can’t use traditional jamming techniques to interfere with the network, ensuring communication during the heat of combat operations.
Military facilities must be hardened against the electromagnetic pulse (EMP) from a nuclear detonation that can potentially fry electronic systems hundreds of miles away from the detonation point. Ruggedized fiber optics are highly resistant to EMP and are easier to harden than copper cabling.
